Jones joins O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home as prearrangement counselor
QUINCY — Rev. Orville Jones is now a prearrangement counselor with the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home. He will be working with area families to pre-plan so their families are taken care of in advance. Preplanning helps prevent emotional, organizational and financial burdens to families in the future.
Jones majored in music and ROTC at Arsenal Technical High School, graduating with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Kentucky State University with a major in music and received a doctor of ministry degree from Isaiah College of Ministry and Seminary.
Jones serves as senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Quincy and is the past moderator of Wood River Baptist District Association, the oldest continuous district in the country. A licensed private pilot, he serves on the Aeronautics Commission and Human Rights Commission in Quincy.
The O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home has been serving regional families for more than 100 years and is a sister company to the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo., the Lewis Brothers Funeral Home in Palmyra, Mo., and the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, Mo.
