Petitions for independent candidates for April 1 election to be available beginning Aug. 20

QUINCY — The office of City Clerk Laura Oakman, local election official in and for the City of Quincy at 730 Maine, Suite 129, recently announced that petitions for independent candidates in the April 1, 2025, consolidated general election will be available Aug. 20.

The first day to file independent petitions in the office of the City Clerk’s office is Nov. 12-18.

The following offices are up for re-election at the consolidated general election:

  • First Ward Alderman
  • Second Ward Alderman
  • Third Ward Alderman
  • Fourth Ward Alderman
  • Fifth Ward Alderman
  • Sixth Ward Alderman
  • Mayor
  • City Clerk
  • City Treasurer
  • Township Supervisor
  • Township Assessor

For more information, consult the Illinois State Board of Election website at www.elections.il.gov.

The City Clerk’s office will be open at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 12, the first day to file, and will remain open until 5 p.m. on Nov. 18, the last day to file.
