Seal coat scheduled to begin on Route A in Ralls County week of Aug. 16
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Seal coat work will begin the week of Aug. 16 on 15.75 miles of Route A in Ralls County, from Route J to U.S. Route 61 at New London.
Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place where crews are actively working. Flaggers and a pilot car will be used to direct traffic through the work zone. For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
The $4.7M contract was awarded last year to Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. of Columbia. The contract includes four additional resurfacing projects in Audrain, Marion and Ralls counties which were completed earlier this summer:
- Route 79 (Marion) — Resurface from 0.3 mile south of the I-72 interchange to 0.5 mile north of Route T in Hannibal.
- Route T (Marion/Ralls) — Resurface from 0.8 mile south of Route 79 in Hannibal to Route V (7.7 miles).
- Route F (Audrain/Ralls) — Resurface from Missouri Route 19 to North of Daniels Avenue near Vandalia (16.8-miles).
- Route V (Ralls) — Resurface from Business 61 in New London to Route T (4.4 miles).
