Verne Roger Bronestine, age 77, walked the stairs to heaven on August 6, 2024 when he passed away at Blessing Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1947 to Edward and Margaret (Smith) Bronestine. He married Betty Klauser on June 4, 1966 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, MO. She survives. To their union were born 3 children.

Verne served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He worked for Gardner Denver Co from 1965 until his retirement in 2014. He belonged to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He enjoyed being with the kids at the LaGrange Youth Center where he was a volunteer.

In addition to his wife, Verne is also survived by:
CHILDREN: Michelle Gengenbacher (Randy) and Steve Bronestine.
GRANDCHILDREN: Jennifer Stucka (Greg), Gabrielle Tasco (Ordello), and Robert Virden (Ericka); Bailey Ash (Brady), Aryiel Gengenbacher and Sailor Gengenbacher (Nick Luciani).
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Dillonn, Gavin, Cheyenne, Serena, Destiny, Kaiden, Rainy, Olivia, Owen and Brayleigh.
SISTER-IN-LAW: Bonnie Bronestine.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Verne was preceded in death by his parents, a son Randy Bronestine along with his wife Linda, Great-grandchildren: Corbin Tasco and Kinsley Ash, his in laws: Alvin and Irene Klauser and siblings: Wayne Bronestine, Wanda Pindell along with her husband Russell, Norma Trumblee along with her husband Duane, Doris Lay along with her husband Don.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery with military rites at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #37 and the United States Air Force Honor Detail. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the mass at noon. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or to the LaGrange Community Youth Center. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
