Quincy man who escaped arrest on Wednesday captured Thursday at Quincy hotel

QUINCY — A Quincy man who eluded arrest on Wednesday was captured Thursday morning at a Quincy hotel.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office attempted Wednesday to locate Zachary C. Seager, 44, who was wanted on three outstanding Adams County arrest warrants — failure to appear for driving while license suspended, failure to appear for possession of methamphetamine and aggravated fleeing to elude a peace officer.

At approximately 11:15am on Oct. 6^th  Deputies assigned to the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force found Seager near 12^th and Harrison at approximately 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. As deputies attempted to take Seager into custody, he fled on foot. He got into a gold GMC SUV and fled from deputies. His vehicle struck a deputy’s vehicle and left the area at a high rate of speed. Deputies did not pursue Seager as he drove away.

Deputies, along with members of the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force, found Seager at the Quincy Inn and Suites, 224 N. 36^th, at approximately 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Seager was taken into custody and lodged in the Adams County Jail. He was lodged without bond on the outstanding warrants for his arrest, as well as additional felony charges — aggravated fleeing to elude a peace officer, criminal damage to state supported property, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the United States Marshal’s Service, West Central Illinois Drug Task Force, Illinois State Police and numerous members of the community.
