Quincy Racquet Club to be site for Pickleball for PINK breast cancer fundraiser this weekend
QUINCY — Pickleball for PINK, a fundraising event for breast cancer support, launches Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17, at Quincy Racquet Club, 3336 State.
The event is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for breast cancer support systems through the breastcancer.org charity. Pickleball for PINK is centered around an indoor pickleball tournament to rally the community to fight breast cancer, the most common cancer affecting people worldwide.
The event was conceived and coordinated by Gabriel Gold, Sophia Gold and Issa Geisendorfer. Their recent fundraiser, “Birdies For Brain Cancer,” raised more than $29,000 for people who receive a brain tumor diagnosis.
Pickleball for PINK offers both competitive and noncompetitive divisions for a day of fun and competition while contributing to vital breast cancer support services.
Event Details:
- Singles – Friday, Aug. 16 | 6 p.m. to finish
- Social – Saturday, Aug. 17 | 8 to 10 a.m.
- Doubles (Intermediate/Advanced) – Saturday, Aug. 17 | 10 a.m. to finish
“With your support, we aim to help to educate and support those affected by breast cancer, and we would be honored to have you join us,” organizer Gabriel Gold said in a press release.
