John Wood Community College to kick off fall semester on Monday with 50th birthday celebration

QUINCY — John Wood Community College will kick off the first day of classes on Monday, Aug. 19, and celebrate its 50th anniversary with a campus-wide birthday party.

Classes will begin at 8 a.m., with the 50th birthday celebration occurring at 10:45 a.m. in the Student Administrative Center on the Quincy campus during class change.

The celebration will include complimentary cake, gifts and a brief historical photo opportunity for students, faculty, staff and retirees. This milestone event marks five decades of educational excellence and community involvement.

The event is open to all current students, faculty, staff, retirees and alumni who wish to celebrate this significant milestone in JWCC’s history.

Enrollment for the fall semester is still open, with registration available through Aug. 22.
