Feast in the Heart of Quincy on Sept. 15 to be served on table down middle of Maine Street

QUINCY — Community members are invited to join 200 District friends on Sunday, Sept. 15, for Feast in the Heart of Quincy, held at one long table down the middle of Maine Street near The Maine Course, 626 Maine.

The event will offer a cocktail hour beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Maine Street and inside The Maine Course along with music by harpist Sarah Boren. Once seated, a delicious family-style meal, using the freshest ingredients from local farmers and featuring five to six courses, will be served at 5:30 p.m. It will be a true farm-to-table experience.

The community dinner, prepared by Chef Kevin Minnick of the Maine Course, Chef Jeremy Platt of Platt Daddy BBQ, Chef Jared Tipton of 8te Open and Chef Cory Shupe of Thyme Square, will consist of:

  • bread and butter
  • charcuterie board with artisanal cheeses
  • Argentinian-style pork belly with chimichurri
  • carnita salad with slaw
  • asado pork loin
  • root vegetables
  • herb potatoes and
  • bunuelos-a South American-inspired apple dumpling with salted Kahlua caramel, peanut butter “dust” and pecan crunch

Many of the ingredients being used to prepare the meal can be found at the Quincy Farmer’s Market on Saturdays in Washington Park now through October from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those attending will also have the opportunity to register to win a fully-stocked bar. Tickets will be sold on-site during registration. Price for the raffle is $20 for one ticket; $40 for two tickets or $50 for three tickets.
