Adams-County-Health-Department

QUINCY — The Adams County Health Department currently has COMIRNATY, the 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine, available for people older than age 18. Pediatric doses will be made available as soon as they are in stock.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone ages 6 months and older receive an updated 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 this fall and winter, whether or not they have previously been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine.

This updated vaccine is designed to respond to the Omicron KP.21 virus strain. Receiving an updated 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine can restore and enhance protection against the virus variants currently responsible for most infections and hospitalizations in the United States.

Adults are considered up to date with their COVID-19 vaccine after they have had one dose of the 2024- 25 COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC has recommendations for additional doses for some immunocompromised individuals.

The Adams County Health Department’s walk-in immunization clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
