Quincy man facing three felony charges after shots fired incident near 24th and Locust

QUINCY — A Quincy man was arrested Wednesday night and is lodged in the Adams County Jail after a shots fired incident.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department were sent to the area of 26th and Locust at approximately 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, about a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they spoke to a person who said a man he knew followed him in his vehicle to the area of 24th and Locust.  The victim said he pulled over to see what the problem was when he heard a gunshot.

Officers later located a vehicle belonging to Michael Matlick, 44, near a mobile home on Steven Lane.  After speaking to a witness, the officer found Matlick in a nearby residence.  Matlick was taken into custody, and a small caliber handgun was recovered.

Matlick has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a firearm and a felon in possession of a firearm.
