QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is investigating multiple reports of a male exposing himself at various locations in Quincy during the past two weeks, committing lewd acts in the view of juveniles and showing them inappropriate photos on his phone.

Victims report that the suspect’s vehicle has stopped at locations ahead of their path, waiting for them to walk by.  The suspect allegedly engages the youths by asking a question to get them to stop and talk while he stays seated in the vehicle.

Reports so far indicate the suspect’s vehicle is a red 2023 to 2025 Kia Soul with no front license plate. The suspect is described as a middle-aged white male with a short gray and black beard.

As of Sunday afternoon, QPD has no information that the suspect has attempted to make physical contact with juveniles, nor are there reports the suspect tried to lure the juveniles into the vehicle.

“We want parents/guardians to be aware and talk with their children about the importance of not talking to strangers and to report suspicious activity,” a press release from the Quincy Police Department said. “Second, we are asking the public for assistance identifying the suspect’s vehicle and/or the suspect.

If you see a 2023 to 2025 Kia Soul with no front license plate, QPD is asking for you to get the registration plate number and contact 911. Multiple vehicles in Quincy could match this description, so do not approach this vehicle or suspect on your own.  Anyone with information relevant to the investigation should call Det. Sgt. Adam Gibson at 217-228-4492.

A photo of the suspect vehicle will accompany this media release.  A separate, more detailed picture of the specific style of wheels believed to be on the suspect vehicle is also included.
