Ewing boy, 11, airlifted to Blessing Hospital after ATV crashes into another ATV

EWING, Mo. — An 11-year-old boy from Ewing, Mo., was airlifted to Quincy after his ATV crashed into another ATV on Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred at approximately 6:38 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 21229 260th Street, three miles west of Ewing. The juvenile was driving a 2001 Honda 90 westbound when his ATV ran into the back of a 2003 Honda TRX400, also traveling westbound. The driver of the Honda TRX400 was a 15-year-old boy from Palmyra.

The 11-year-old sustained serious injuries when he was ejected from his ATV upon impact. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital for treatment. The 15-year-old boy from Palmyra was uninjured.

Both ATVs were driven from the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by Lewis County EMS, the Lewis County Fire Department and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.
