Adams County Sheriff’s Department announces results of Labor Day safety campaign
ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. — The Adams County Sheriff’s Department successfully conducted an impaired driving enforcement effort over Labor Day weekend, resulting in zero arrests for driving under the influence. Seven seat belt citations were issued, with zero occurring during nighttime hours. A total of 35 other citations and arrests were:
- Speeding-16
- Unauthorized Use of Electronic Device-2
- No Valid Insurance-10
- No Valid Driver’s License-1
- Expired Registration-4
- No Headlights When Required-1
- Driving Wrong Way on One Way-1
- Criminal Warrant Arrests-2
“Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we helped to make our roads safer and spread the word about the risks of impaired driving, ‘It’s Not a Game,” Sgt. Jake McMahon said in a press release.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Department collaborated with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners in Illinois for the Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High, Get a DUI” campaigns. This effort used federal highway safety funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
