Christine R. Geschwandner, 49, of Quincy, passed away at 8:55 am Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home in Quincy, IL.

A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. Chaplain Jerry Edison will officiate.

Christine was born May 18, 1975, in Quincy, IL to Monte Maddox and Catherine (Law) Lorenson.

Survivors include her parents, Monte Maddox and Catherine Lorenson; three children, Devin McKiernan (Jess), Abby Geschwandner, and Colin Geschwandner; her life partner, Michael Betts; her brother, Cody Lorenson (Alexis); her sister, Nicole Cassady (Brandon); and her niece Sydaleigh Cassady.

Christine was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and one aunt, Lorri Law.

Christine’s professional life was marked by her compassionate service to others. She attended John Wood Community College, which laid the foundation for her career in healthcare. Christine dedicated many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care and comfort to those in need at various locations. She also worked as a Cath Lab Secretary at Blessing Hospital, where her colleagues respected her for her diligence and her warm, caring nature.

Christine’s interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her frequent visits to the river camp in the north bottoms, a place where she felt at peace surrounded by nature. Her affinity for animals was profound, and she shared a special bond with her dogs, Maverick, Zoey, and Charlie, who were her constant companions and will greatly miss her. Christine relished her time riding horses, with rides in Grafton, IL holding a special place in her heart. Her culinary skills were no secret among her friends and family, as she was known for her delicious homemade soups and her signature bruschetta, made with tomatoes lovingly grown in her own garden. Christine’s presence was a gift to those around her, and her memory will be treasured forever.
