MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — The Tracy Family Foundation and Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA are the hosts of the fourth annual Brown County Comedy Night on Saturday, Oct. 19.

This year’s event, featuring performances by Marty Simpson and Shawn Reynolds, will be held in the Brown County High School auditorium and is appropriate for ages 12 and older. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

Simpson’s comedy has been featured on ESPN, BET and Nickelodeon. His award-winning special “Clean if it Kills Me” is available to stream on multiple platforms, and his DryBar Comedy special can be seen at DryBarComedy.com/Coach.

Simpson has performed on three different continents. He was a finalist in the 2017 Trial By Laughter and was named a festival favorite at Big Pine Comedy Festival. He won the 2012 Clean Comedy Challenge. His comedy is shaped by his 25-plus years of marriage and two teenage kids, as well as his 10 years as a high school football coach and drama teacher.

Reynolds is an internationally touring comedian and dad of six who has appeared on tour with Tim Hawkins, Michael Jr. and Anita Renfroe. He has headlined multiple tours, including the MidWest Clean Comedy All-Stars Tour and UpStanding Comedy Tour in Canada. Reynolds has appeared on ABC and NBC. His Dry Bar Comedy special was released in 2020 and amassed more than two million views.

Reynolds was a finalist in Chicago’s national “Clean Comedy Challenge,” and he was the winner of the “Funniest Comic East of the Mississippi” contest. He is the founder of “Stand-Up For Adoption,” a comedy benefit series that has raised thousands of dollars for families trying to adopt children with special needs.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA Welcome Desk. YMCA financial assistance scholarships apply toward a ticket purchase. Seating will be first come, first served.
