Quincy Fire Department to kickoff Fire Prevention Week with demonstrations Sunday

QUINCY — In recognition of Fire Prevention Week Oct. 6-12, the Quincy fire department will hold a kickoff event Sunday, Oct. 6, in the parking lot of the HyVee grocery store on Broadway.
The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Scheduled activities include a rappelling station from 1 to 4 p.m., a vehicle extrication demonstration at 2 p.m and a burn cube demonstration at 3 p.m.
