QUINCY — Over 40 hours of video tapes from various angles will be reviewed in the Alan Pacheco case.

Pacheco will appear for a status hearing Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 8:45 a.m.  The video evidence will be evaluated by Pacheco, the defense and the prosecution before the status hearing.

Pacheco pleaded not guilty to five felony charges from a shooting incident that took place in the TJ Maxx parking lot July 6.

The defense is arguing that Islam D. Woodson and Terrance D. Horton attacked Pacheco and his girlfriend. Pacheco shot Horton, who also had a weapon. Defense Attorney Ryan Schuenke said Pacheco acted in self-defense when shooting Horton and intentionally shot at the ground in an attempt to scare Woodson.

First Assistant State’s Attorney Todd Eyler believes the defense argument is an attempt to smear the victims of the case.

Pacheco’s case is on the November jury docket. His next appearance is a status hearing on October 16.
