MRN asks: Pro-life or pro-choice? Or is there middle ground?

Abortion has become one of the most significant issues to this election cycle following the reversal of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court in the summer of 2022, especially among women and undecided voters. As a traditionally conservative and religious region, many residents in our area have been outspoken about their support for President Trump and the pro-life movement. At the same time, by mid-October, a year will have passed since the Republican-majority Quincy City Council voted against declaring the city as a “sanctuary for the unborn.”

Nationally, views on abortion among the electorate have shifted since the Supreme Court’s decision, but has it in our area? If they have, is dissatisfaction among voters significant enough to make them reconsider who they’ll be voting for in November? Do conservative voters feel confident that a second term with President Trump would prioritize a pro-life agenda? Or is it simply not something many folks around here think about that much?

Muddy River News put this survey together to attempt to quantify the region’s tone on a very controversial topic.
