QUINCY — John Wood Community College (JWCC) is introducing Pathway Days, an initiative helping students and parents make smart, informed decisions about careers and academic majors.

Designed to begin with the end in mind, these events focus on early career identification, salary insights and connecting career potential with student debt awareness. Students will connect with professionals and explore how JWCC can provide high-quality education without overwhelming costs.

“Our goal is to show students how JWCC can be their smart choice for long-term success, helping them plan careers that make financial sense,” Kristen Ritterbusch, Director of Pathways at JWCC, said in a press release. “We also know it is difficult to decide on a path, and we have staff, faculty, alumni and students who will walk them through a process to identify a general direction and stay with them as they narrow things down on their journey.”

Upcoming Pathway Days:

  • Education Pathway Day: Oct. 23, 10 a.m. to noon
  • Healthcare Pathway Day: Nov. 15, 10 a.m. to noon
  • Transfer Pathway Day: Dec. 5, 10 a.m. to noon – Explore JWCC’s 25 transfer majors that provide the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and meet with advisors to explore options, review specific courses in each, research job openings and associated salaries, connect with current professionals in various fields and plan seamless transfers to four-year universities.
