Shirley Ann Scheiner — O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home

Shirley Ann Scheiner, 89, of Quincy, passed away at 8:35 am Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Sunset Home in Quincy, IL.

Shirley was born November 30, 1934, in Hannibal, MO to Howard John and Margaret Adeleen (Griffin) Hirner. She was married to Harold L. Scheiner on March 8, 1974, in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2007.

Survivors include Harold’s daughter, Debra Ann Mitchell (Jerry), and their four children, all of Texas.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one son, Dan Howerton.

Shirley graduated from Hannibal High in 1953. After attending school at John Wood Community College, Shirley worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at the Illinois Veterans Home for many years.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, sitting on her patio, and spending time with her dogs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Rev. Steve Disseler will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Blessing Hospice.
