He was born November 5, 1935, in Quincy, IL, a son of Orville E. Wood and Edith L. (Langford) Wood. He married Charlene Muegge on July 19, 1975, in Quincy, and she survives.
Woody attended Quincy High School. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956.
Woody spent many years working for Reliable Termite and Pest control. He later went to work for Prairie Farms Dairy for 20 years prior to retiring in 1998. He then worked for the Village of Ursa for many years maintaining the Ursa Park and other public areas around the Ursa community. He took great pride ensuring that Ursa facilities were well kept for the community to enjoy.
Woody enjoyed watching football and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He also enjoyed spending weekend days watching a movie and having popcorn with his wife, Charlene. Up until the passing of his best friend, Bill Koch, in 2021, Woody enjoyed working on outdoor projects and going to breakfast regularly with Bill.
