45 Years: Dave & Theresa Bockhold

Dave and Theresa Bockhold of rural Payson, will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary at a dinner with their children and grandchildren. They also celebrated this past May with a trip to Germany where they visited ancestral farms and met distant cousins.

Mr. Bockhold and the former Theresa Genenbacher were married on October 27, 1979 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mrs. Bockhold is a daughter of the late Robert and Dolly (Mast) Genenbacher of rural Quincy. Mr. Bockhold is the son of the late George and Betty (Duesterhaus) Bockhold of Quincy.

They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. They are the parents of Laura (Mike) Ohnemus of rural Camp Point and their children, Maddy and Lane; Matt (Ashley) Bockhold of rural Quincy and their children, Kaiser and Kellyn; and Ross (Sarah) Bockhold of rural Quincy and their children, Grady, Josey and Rhett. Twin granddaughters, Gwendolyn Theresa Bockhold and Ellison Rose Bockhold are deceased.

Mr. Bockhold retired from the Adams County Highway Department after previously being a locomotive engineer for BNSF Railway and a district manager for Ferrellgas and Heetco.
Mr. Bockhold is the Supervisor of Melrose Township and is the Chairman of the Adams County Republican Party. Mrs. Bockhold is retired from Payson Seymour Elementary School and is a member of the Adams County Board. Mr. and Mrs. Bockhold are both serving on the Adams County Bicentennial Commission.

They are members of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Quincy Gun Club, the South Side Boat Club and the Adams County Olde Tyme Association. Mr. Bockhold is an avid trap shooter. They enjoy following their grandchildren’s activities, traveling, and spending time with family and friends at their sesquicentennial farm.
