Hannibal Parks and Recreation offering scavenger hunts for children at city parks
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Parks and Recreation is offering scavenger hunts in local parks designed to spark adventure among children.
Mary Lynne Richards, marketing director of Hannibal Parks and Recreation, said the activities are aimed to encourage exploration and a love for nature.
The scavenger hunts are posted on www.hannibalparks.org website under each park’s page. There are scavenger hunts for Riverview Park, Huckleberry Park, Nipper Park and Sodalis Nature Preserve, each featuring eight photos. She said more parks will be added in the future. The hunts also are posted at City Hall, 320 Broadway, and in park bulletin boards.
“The photos are designed for little ones to see easily, just to give them a little more excitement and adventure in the park,” Richards said in a press release.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to join their children on the adventure any time when parks are open.
