Illinois College expands articulation agreements with JWCC for accounting, management, sports management
QUINCY — Illinois College in Jacksonville has expanded its ongoing partnership with John Wood Community College (JWCC), offering 2+2 agreements for students in accounting, management and sports management. JWCC president Bryan Renfro, Illinois College president Barbara Farley, JWCC staff and Illinois College faculty and staff were present for the signing of the expanded articulation agreement on Monday, Oct. 28.
This agreement expands on the articulation agreement signed last year between Illinois College and JWCC allowing agriculture and agricultural science students to complete their bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management at Illinois College.
This expansion provides an opportunity for students to transition into completing their bachelor’s degree. More students can benefit from a flexible and efficient pathway toward their academic and career goals.
A 2+2 agreement means courses taken at a two-year community college will directly transfer into a specific four-year academic degree program at a college or university.
In a press release, Renfro said, “Any time we can expand agreements in multiple majors with four-year partners increases access and opportunities for our students. We are proud to sign this agreement with Illinois College for our business students.”
“We look forward to building on the success of our agribusiness management agreement, as we welcome students who set their foundation at John Wood Community College,” Farley said.
Prospective students can learn more about sports management by visiting ic.edu. Students obtaining a degree in accounting and management are also given the flexibility of studying on IC’s campus or through an online program.
