Filing closes for candidates seeking office in Quincy’s municipal elections

QUINCY — Filing closed Monday evening for Quincy’s 2025 municipal elections.

Quincy is divided into seven wards with each represented by two aldermen, alternating every two years with one seat being available at a time. Citywide offices are also on the ballot.

The candidates who filed for the Feb. 25, 2025 primary, if needed or, or the April 1, 2025 general election are:

Ward 1: Greg Fletcher (R).

Ward 2: Dave Bauer (D) and Carol Mayfield (R).

Ward 3: Kenneth Hultz (R), Tim Lohmeyer (R), Robert Eyler (R), Michael Adkins (R).

Ward 4: Anthony “Tony” Sassen (R). 

Ward 5: Mike Rein (R) and Laura McReynolds (R).

Ward 6: Richard “Richie” C. Reis (D).

Ward 7: Jack Holtschlag (D) and Brennan Hills (D). 

Wards 3, 5 and 7 will call for a primary as will the mayor’s race on the Republican side.

The declared Republican mayoral candidates are former alderman Dan Brink and the incumbent, Mayor Michael Troup. The lottery for ballot position for the Feb. 25 Consolidated Primary will be held on Nov. 6, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 730 Maine. The lottery drawing is open to the public.  

Former city treasurer Linda Moore has announced her candidacy for Mayor, running as an independent. Independent candidates must file, Nov. 12 through 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 18 from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The candidates for the remaining citywide offices are all incumbents and are:

Lisa Gasko (D) for Township Assessor

Maggie Hoyt (R) for Township Supervisor

Laura Oakman (D) for City Clerk

Kelly Stupasky (D) for City Treasurer.
