Mrs. Margaret Ann (Mardy) Gaus, age 79, of Ewing, MO passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 3, 1945 in Hull, IL a daughter of Herbert C. and Grace Maddox Carder. She married William Richard Gaus on June 19, 1965 at Bridal Cave in Camdenton, MO. He passed away November 12, 2023.

Mardy loved her cat Frankie, who was a beloved family member. Hummingbirds and flowers were a joy for her, and she spent hours watching the birds enjoy the flowers so deliberately planted.

Scratch-off lottery tickets were a treat for her to enjoy now and then. As all family members will tell you, baking and cooking were a special joy for her as witnessed by her love for preparing Sunday family dinners.

Some might say it was an enticement to get the grandkids over. Mardy enjoyed the simpler things in life like a good square dance with Willie, and spending some time with friends at the saddle club.

Survivors include her son Darin (Chantel) Gaus of Ewing; her daughter, Regina (William Terlisner) Gaus of Quincy, IL four grandchildren, Sadie (Calvin) Smith of Quincy, IL, Lindsigh (Andrew) Griesbaum of Ewing, Alexis (Bryan) Davis of Palmyra and Zayne Gaus of Ewing; six great grandchildren, Andrin and Arrow Griesbaum, Denver and Dawsyn Davis, Sajrina Smith and Katalina Smith; one sister, Donetta Gott of Kinderhook, IL; one brother, Phil Carder of De Pere, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by his parents, husband, and two brothers, Gaylord and Ronald Carder.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing with Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating. Burial will be in Ewing Memorial Cemetery, Ewing, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Ewing Memorial Cemetery.
