Palmyra teenager injured in single-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 168 Thursday morning

PALMYRA, Mo. — A 19-year-old man from Palmyra sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 168, about five miles west of Palmyra at approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash involved a 1997 Ford Ranger traveling southbound. The vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign, veered off the road and struck an embankment. The Ford Ranger sustained moderate damage and was removed by the owner.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported by the Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., for treatment of minor injuries.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Palmyra Fire Department provided assistance.
