Patricia M. Rokusek, age 86, of Quincy, IL, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in Mari de Villa Senior Living in Town and Country, MO.

Patricia (Pat) was born August 28, 1938, in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of John Lawrence Eades and Viola Pearl Childress Eades. She married Raymond (Ray) L. Rokusek on June 2, 1961, in Fontana, CA.

Pat was a 1956 graduate of Ewing (MO) High School and a 1960 graduate of Kirksville State Teachers College where she became a member of Kappa Delta Gamma sorority . She received her Masters Degree in Education from Northeast Missouri State University in 1980.

Pat was a trailblazer in education and a lifelong advocate for children. After teaching in Fontana, California for 11 years, Pat and her family moved to Quincy where she taught at Berrian and Irving Schools from 1970 until 1984. She then was the Principal at Dewey School until her retirement in 2004. Even in retirement, Pat continued to be a force in education and became a professor of education at Quincy University.

She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter EC, and an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church, where she and her husband Ray taught Sunday school and led youth fellowship. Her favorite hobbies included reading and gardening, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond L. Rokusek of Quincy, IL, two children, John Rokusek of St. Louis, MO, and Lisa (Ginger Human) Rokusek of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren, Laurel Rokusek of Denver, Co, Jacob Rokusek, and Nicole Rokusek of Quincy, and her sister, Viola (Grover) Gamm of Ewing, MO.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home Nov 23, 2024 with Pastor Dr. Tom Dickerson officiating.
