Lighting of Washington Park set for Nov. 30 to kick off holiday season
QUINCY — The lighting of Washington Park, sponsored by TNT Golf Car and Motorsports and Craig Industries, will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
Emcee for the evening will be Denise Tallcott, with music provided by Quincy Concert Band’s low brass ensemble beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Santa will arrive in his sleigh at 6 p.m. and be available until 8 p.m. to listen to children’s wish lists. His arrival will be accompanied by dancers from Vancil Performing Arts Center.
Kohl Wholesale will provide free hot chocolate and cookies with food and drink offerings available for purchase from Shots Fired Coffee Company and Platt Daddy BBQ.
Children can explore the Quincy Children’s Museum Snow Sensory Bin and Igloo and take pictures with character cutouts, the Square Peg Group Troupe, The Grinch and the museum’s Snow Globe. Lyon’s Pride Entertainment will provide background music.
Anyone bringing a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots will be eligible to win one of two $30 District gift certificates.
Santa will return to the park from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 5, 12 and 19. The District will be offering chances to win gift certificates.
