Scoggin-Myers receives Best of Show award at 30th annual Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Area Artist Showcase
QUINCY — The Quincy Art Center has unveiled the award winners of the 30th annual Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Area Artist Showcase. This year’s exhibition featured 99 juried pieces from artists across a 20-county region, celebrating depth and diversity of artistic expression.
The Best of Show award went to Debra K. Scoggin-Myers of Ewing, Mo., for her pastel piece “Where’s Our Leader.” A retired professor of art, Scoggin-Myers creates work that reflects her love for her “pawed and clawed” friends, capturing them in tender, nestling moments.
Additional winners were:
- Second place: Howard Kuo – When Artist Ran Out of Imagination (Watercolor, 2023)
- Third place: Austin Roberts – Exuviate (Silverpoint on Panel, 2024)

- Veronica Sandercock – Flower Frog (Porcelain – Handcoiled on Thrown Vessel, 2024)
- Linda Beuchting Watercolor Award: Kelly Eddington – Menomorphosis: Still Got It (Watercolor, 2022)

The Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Area Artists Showcase has long been a cornerstone of the Quincy Art Center’s mission, offering a platform for local artists to share their work and connect with the community.
The exhibit is free and open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Jan. 4.
