West Central Illinois Task Force investigation ends in arrest of Macomb man for possession of child pornography

MACOMB, Ill. – The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 4 arrested Christopher Michael Metcalf, 43, of Macomb for possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony.

A press release from the Illinois State Police said the West Central Illinois Task Force initiated an investigation in October 2024 after learning a subject in the 200 block of N. Sherman Avenue in Macomb was disseminating child sexual abuse material through an online platform. A search warrant was executed Tuesday in the 200 block of N. Sherman Avenue, and evidence of child sexual abuse material was discovered in Metcalf’s possession. 

Metcalf was arrested and is detained at the McDonough County Jail awaiting a detention hearing. The McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a three-count information on Wednesday charging Metcalf with possession of child pornography.

The Macomb Police Department, McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Digital Forensic Examiners assisted the West Central Illinois Task Force with this investigation. Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact ISP Zone 4 Investigations at (309) 837-5840.
