Quincy University music program to be host of Saxophone Day Friday at Connie Niemann Center

QUINCY — Quincy University’s Music Department will host its annual Saxophone Day for high school students on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Connie Niemann Center for Music at QU’s North Campus, 17th and Seminary Rd. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.

Saxophone players in grades of 9-12 are encouraged to attend. All abilities are welcome. The event is free, and meals are included. The day will end with a concert for family and friends at 5 p.m. The community is also invited to the saxophone quartet recital at 2 p.m.

The day will bring together high school saxophone players from around the area to form a saxophone choir. Students will spend the day participating in a saxophone choir, learning about the saxophone and watching a saxophone quartet recital.
