SAVERTON, Mo. — Genesis Bible Church, 12613 Saverton Drive in Saverton, offers a chance to reflect on the night when Jesus was born at its fourth annual live nativity from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22.

The event is free. Before viewing the nativity, each attendee can stop at the hot cocoa stand for a free steaming cup of hot chocolate and a candy cane.

The event will feature sheep, goats, donkeys, zebu and camels, supplied by Kamaroo Farms and the Duncan family farm. Visitors can visit the traveling wisemen making their way to the child Messiah and pause and reflect on the scene at the manger.

Michelle Mahsman, live nativity director at Genesis Bible Church, said the live nativity is a revenant place for guests to experience what it could have been like that night.

In a press release, Mahsman said, “The atmosphere is meant to bring a pause to the busy season to reflect on the birth of Jesus, and to remember that God sent His only son Jesus to be born for us. Certainly, this should be appreciated all year long, but this is an opportunity to thank God for the gift of Jesus.”

Mahsman said everyone is invited to come and experience the live nativity.

“We just want to share Jesus with the community around us and shine a light on what He did for us,” she said.

Christmas Eve candlelight services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. with Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m.
