Saturday last day for farmers market in Hannibal; pumpkin contest also set for Saturday
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Saturday is the last day of the Central Park Farmers Market for the 2021 season. Market hours are 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Market manager Steve Huse said the vendors have been pleased with the turnout of customers this year. “We have had a lot of new vendors and a lot of new products available this year,” he said. “It has been important for customers to shop local.”
Hannibal Parks & Recreation is the host of the seventh annual Pumpkins in the Park, a pumpkin-decorating contest and exhibit from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The pumpkins will be on display and judged by spectators.
Participants are being asked to bring pumpkins to Central Park from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. They can retrieve their pumpkins at noon. Pumpkins can be decorated with paint, glitter, markers, etc., but they cannot be carved. Photos of the pumpkins will be posted on the Hannibal Parks Facebook page. The pumpkin with the most likes will earn Facebook Favorite. Prizes are donated by SC Contact Centers and Hannibal Parks & Recreation.
