Gary graduated from Quincy High School in 1960. He was the type of person that could strike up a conversation with anyone he met, especially while delivering an average of 100 packages and 32 pick-ups every day for UPS for 35 years. He loved the people he met on his routes and their families. Gary was known for his gregarious personality, his love of telling jokes, and for his wonderful singing voice. The Clappers attended countless country music concerts together. Together, they met many famous people. Gary played slow pitch softball at the KC, at the Moose Club, as well as at local parks; he was a skillful pitcher. He also enjoyed deer hunting with family. But it was his love of spending time at home with his wife of 37 years, Julie, and their dogs that he most cherished, along with having family and friends gathered around the pool in the summertime for BBQ’s, especially on Father’s Day.
