CARTHAGE, Ill. — An unnamed benefactor has donated $20,000 to Carthage Public Library District’s Launching Our Dream fundraising campaign. The goal of the initiative is to raise $50,000 before the end of February.

If the library raises the remaining $30,000 to reach the goal, the unnamed benefactor will match it with another $30,000 donation. Community donations currently total $6,875.

Carthage Public Library plans to construct a 10,000-square-foot building at the corner of First and Center in Carthage. The architects are preparing documents and specifications for the project, and it is scheduled to be put out for bid in mid-January.

The Carthage District Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and a qualified charity for RMDs and year-end gifts. Naming opportunities are still available, as well as engraved bricks and pavers.

Online giving is also an option. Visit https://www.carthagepubliclibrary.com/library-foundation.html, or contact the library at 217-357-3232 or cartlib@mtcnow.net for more information.
