Woman whose husband died in police shootout believed to be dead
QUINCY – The investigation of a missing woman whose husband died during a standoff with Northeast Missouri law enforcement officers is now being classified as a homicide.
Quincy Police Department continues to investigate the missing person report of Britney D. Hoffman-Kelly last heard from on Dec. 14 in St. Charles, Mo., working with detectives from that city’s police department.
The investigation is now being classified as a homicide investigation by the St. Charles Police.
Evidence has been obtained that has led them to believe that Hoffman-Kelly is deceased, but her whereabouts are still unknown at this time.
The investigation continues to locate Hoffman-Kelly’s remains and law enforcement continues to ask
for information from anyone that may have seen a 2020 Audi with Ill. places ET 25911 between the dates of Dec. 18 to Dec. 20 to contact the Quincy Police Department or the St. Charles Police Department.
Her husband, Chadwick Kelly was involved in a standoff with police in La Belle, Mo. on Dec. 20 and was killed by officers whom he had fired up. Chadwick Kelly is considered to be a suspect in the death of Hoffman-Kelly.
