Missouri State Highway Patrol reports zero traffic or boating Fatalities over New Year’s holiday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Col. Eric T. Olson superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, reports it was a relatively safe entrance into the new year for Missouri drivers and boaters.

Zero people died and 21 were injured in traffic crashing during the New Year’s holiday counting period from 6 p.m. Dec. 31, 2024 to 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2024. There were no boating crashes or drowning during the same period.

Trooper investigated the following:

  • Traffic crashes: 44
  • Traffic crash injuries: 21
  • Traffic crash fatalities: 0
  • DWI: 50
