Loraine Lions Club to hold annual consignment auction Feb. 22

Loraine Lions Club

LORAINE, Ill. — The Loraine Lions Club announced its annual consignment auction will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. Tractors and vehicles will sell at noon. Auction services will be provided by Lowderman Auctioneers from Macomb.

After taking 2023 off, the Loraine Lions Club brought the auction back for 2024.  Many people have small items that do not fit into the larger auctions in the region and are looking for a place close to home to sell them. The Loraine Lions Club will provide that venue and hopes for a large turnout.

The auction will accept a large variety of farm machinery, vehicles, tractors, livestock equipment, tools and lawn and garden items. Hayrack items are welcome, but wagons are limited. If possible, participants should provide a wagon to display items.

Items not accepted include furniture, mattresses, junk tires and rims. Additionally, any item may be deemed unsellable by the committee. Seek clarification if you have questions or concerns about your items.

Check-in of items at the auction site will be conducted in the Loraine Lions Den, north of the old elevator. When dropping off items for the auction,do not interfere with the operations or the employees of Ursa Farmers Cooperative but rather work with the club members. Any items dropped off after hours or without checking in with the committee will remain the responsibility and liability of the seller.

Items will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, February 15. No one will be present during the week to accept items, but arrangements may be made by contacting the committee. Personnel will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 20 and 21. Items will not be accepted after 4 p.m. unless prior arrangements are made. No items will be accepted on the day of the auction.

As soon as the item is sold, it is the responsibility of the buyer to secure their purchase. All purchases must be paid for on the day of the sale. Loaders will be available after 2 p.m. to help buyers load equipment. Personnel will not be on site on Sunday unless arrangements are made. Assistance throughout the following week needs to be requested by contacting the committee members or a Lions Club member. All items must be removed by March 1.

People wishing to consign items to be listed on the sale bill need to submit them no later than Friday, Jan. 31. Early submittals and items received after Feb. 1 will be listed on the Loraine Lions Club Facebook page as they are received. Photos of items are appreciated.

Commission schedules are available on request. Titles must be submitted when checking in titled vehicles or equipment. No sales on personal vehicles, ATVs or boats is $25. Items selling for more than $4,000 will have a $50 no-sale charge. All other items will be $10 buyback. Seller’s checks for less than $5 will be considered a donation to the Loraine Lions Club.

Any announcements made on the day of sale supersede any previous statements. The Loraine Lions Club is not responsible for accidents or lost and misplaced items.

To consign items or for further inquires, contact Brent Clair at 217-257-9963 or farm4cast@yahoo.com, Ken Gray at 217-242-4383 or any Loraine Lions Club member.
