John Wood Community College offering free FAFSA filing assistance sessions for 2025-26 academic year
QUINCY — John Wood Community College (JWCC) is offering free FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) filing assistance sessions to help students and families navigate the financial aid process for the 2025-26 academic year. These sessions are open to all community members, regardless of the college or university they plan to attend.
FAFSA Filing Schedule:
- Tuesday, Jan. 21 — 4 to 6 p.m. — Location: Room B108, JWCC Library, Quincy
- Thursday, Jan. 23 — 3 to 5 p.m. — Location: Room B108, JWCC Library, Quincy
- Tuesday, Jan. 28 — 5:30 to 7 p.m. — Location: JWCC Pittsfield Education Center
- Thursday, Feb. 6 — 3 to 6 p.m. — Location: JWCC Mount Sterling Education Center
These sessions aim to provide guidance to students and families, ensuring they complete the FAFSA accurately and on time. Filing the FAFSA is a crucial step in accessing federal and state financial aid, scholarships and grants.
Participants are encouraged to bring the following:
- FSA ID: Created beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov.
- Social Security Numbers: For the student and parent(s), if applicable.
- 2023 Federal Tax Information: For student and parent(s), including W-2s and other records of income.
- Asset and Income Information: For student and parent(s), if applicable.
