Fleer selected as Dream Big Staff Choice Award winner

QUINCY — Brenda Fleer, assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at Quincy Junior High School, was named as the winner of the 2021 Dream Big Staff Choice Award on Friday at an event at Flinn Stadium.

The Dream Big Award is the Quincy Public Schools Foundation’s highest award. It is reserved for the person or persons who have shown the highest level of support for the school district. Past honorees are the Moore family, Maureen Crickard, George C. Meyer, Richard Thompson, Kathleen Dooley and Harold Knapheide III. 

This year’s nominees were chosen by peers in the Quincy School District. The top-nominated employee at each location moved on to community voting. Nominees for the award were:

  • Glenn Hogge, Early Childhood and Family Center; 
  • Nikki Finney, Rooney Elementary; 
  • Lindsay Struck, Baldwin Elementary; 
  • Krykette Eversden-Duesterhaus, Denman Elementary; 
  • Amy VaLeu, Iles Elementary; 
  • Amy Webster, Lincoln-Douglas Elementary; 
  • Brenda Fleer, Quincy Junior High; 
  • Christina Meyer, Quincy High School; 
  • Dana Trantor, Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center; 
  • Laura Kelle, The Academy;
  • Brandy Kirby; Board Office.
