QUINCY — Plans are underway for another year of raising money for local charities through Paddles for a Purpose. This quarter auction event helps the community become familiar with local charities while raising money and having fun.

The events include a 50-item auction with various items and baskets to bid on such as home décor, clothing, jewelry, food and gift cards. Multiple local vendors with booths are available to shop from. Bring your snacks and water with a cash bar available to buy other drinks and pizza.

The lineup for this spring includes:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 11, for Camp Callahan
  • Tuesday, March 4, for Fishing for Freedom (moved to the first Tuesday of the month)
  • Tuesday, April 8, for Ulmus Academy, which will be a new blacklight paddles event
  • Tuesday, May 13, for Jensen Woods

Events are held each month at the Eagles Alps Main Building, 373 N. Fifth. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bidding starts at 6:15 p.m.

Participants are asked to bring their quarters. A limited amount will be available for purchase.
