CARTHAGE, Ill. — Memorial Medical Clinics recently announced the addition of Chelsea Youmans, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, to its behavioral health team.

Youmans is dual board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her diverse clinical interests include behavioral health, addiction medicine and aesthetics.

Her educational background includes post-master’s certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a bachelor’s degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing and an associate’s degree from Park University.

Youmans began her nursing career in 2002 and earned her family nurse practitioner certification in 2013. Her extensive experience spans women’s health, family practice, ER, wound care, aesthetics and, most recently, behavioral health.

Youmans embraces a patient-centered philosophy inspired by the words of Brené Brown: “All I know is that my life is better when I assume that people are doing their best. It keeps me out of judgment and lets me focus on what is and not what should or could be.”

Youmans is accepting new patients at Memorial Medical Clinic Carthage and Memorial Medical Clinic Broadway in Hamilton. To schedule an appointment, call: Carthage-217-357-6888 or Hamilton-217-551-3100.
