SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State Rep. Kyle Moore recently secured positions on the House Veterans Affairs and Public Utility committees, among others.

“When I served as the Mayor of Quincy. I fought for our heroes at the Quincy Veterans Home. Participating on the Veterans Affairs Committee gives me a seat at the table to continue working to improve services for them and for other veterans across the state,” Moore said in a press release.

Moore has already filed House Bill 1352, which would facilitate the formation of multi-county Veterans Assistance Commissions, allowing smaller counties to band together to expand resources available to veterans in their region.

Moore said he’s extremely pleased with his new appointment to the House Public Utilities Committee, which plays a role in helping control utility costs for Illinois families.

“As energy options were limited over the past several years, our families have paid the price with soaring utility bills. We must change course so families and seniors aren’t struggling to heat and cool their homes,” Moore said.

Moore also will serve as a member of the House Health Care Licenses Committee, which helps make decisions impacting medical service community hubs in the district. He’s on the Revenue and Finance, Personnel and Pensions, Appropriations-Personnel and Pensions committees.

“These committee posts give all residents of the 99th district a seat at the table on a whole host of issues important to our communities. I’m ready to get to work,” Moore said.
