Perry woman hospitalized after her car struck vehicle driven by Hannibal man on U.S. 36

MONROE CITY, Mo. — One person was transported to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 36, three miles east of Monroe City, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, when a 2017 GMC Acadia, driven by an 82-year-old woman from Perry, Mo., failed to yield and struck a 2024 Nissan Altima, driven by a 46-year-old man from Hannibal. The Altima was forced off the right side of the road and into a creek.

The driver of the Altima sustained minor injuries and was transported by Monroe City Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital. The driver of the GMC Acadia did not report an injury and drove from the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The Nissan Altima sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Assistance was provided by the Ralls County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Police Department, Monroe City Police Department and Monroe City Fire Department.
