Deadline to apply is March 1 for Quincy Community Theatre playwriting festival

Playwriting Festival

QUINCY — Have a play in your heart? Have you always wanted to unlock it and write that play, but you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment? Maybe you’ve been working on a play (or plays). and all you need is an audience? Now is the time.

Submissions are open for the Quincy Community Theatre Playwriting Festival on Saturday, June 28, presented in partnership with the Midsummer Arts Faire. Submissions for short-form plays (also known as “10-Minute Plays”), monologues and one-person shows from local playwrights to be produced as a staged reading at the QCT Playwriting Festival event are being accepted.

A panel will read and evaluate each submission before selecting this year’s plays. The subject matter and style are up to you. Be aware the festival is open to all ages. The play’s content must be appropriate for a family audience.

The staged readings will be rehearsed and performed by local actors and directed by local theatre makers. Deadline for submissions is March 1.
