Juvenile arrested after city’s second shots fired incident of the day

QUINCY — Quincy Police made an arrest Wednesday night after the second instance of gunfire on the city’s south side.
At about 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of S. 14th in reference to a shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were told that a fight had occurred and one shot was fired.
Two vehicles were seen leaving the area. One vehicle was stopped on Spring St between 7th & 8th streets shortly after that. One subject ran from the vehicle and four others were taken into custody. The male who ran was taken in custody shortly later. The male juvenile subject was later taken to the Adams Co Juvenile Detention facility. The firearm was recovered in the area the juvenile fled too.
Adams County Sheriff’s also assisted in the case. QPD officials say this not connected to a Wednesday afternoon incident where shots were fired in the 1800 block of Van Buren near Johnson Park. The two calls were about 12 blocks apart.
QPD also said they don’t believe there is any further threat to the public.
