MACOMB, Ill. — Officer Korri Cameron recently was selected as the 2024 Officer of the Year for the Macomb Police Department.

Police Chief Jeff Hamer said in a press release that Cameron exhibited dedication, outstanding performance, resolve and service since the beginning of her commission at the Macomb Police Department about two years ago.

“She has been recognized for outstanding performance in connection with a violent domestic investigation,” Hamer said. “She displayed exceptional empathy and fortitude during two critical use-of-force calls in 2024. She is eager to assist in both investigations and patrol operations.”

In her spare time, Cameron assists with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 189’s community outreach such as the Scott Jennings Fishing Tournament, Blue Line Ball and the Shop with a Cop event.

This award began at the Macomb Police Department in 2012. It is bestowed upon one police officer annually in recognition of those qualities which distinguish them as a professional in the field of policing. The award recognizes the officer’s dedication to duty, outstanding job performance, unsullied moral character, exceptional community/civic leadership or service and professional police image.
