Pike County Sheriff’s Department investigating armed robbery at Barry convenience store

BARRY, Ill. — The Pike County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Jiffi Stop Convenience Store on Illinois Route 106 in Barry.
A male subject entered the store at approximately 11:50 p.m., displayed a firearm and demanded money from the cashier. The subject left the store with a small amount of cash.
Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood said in a press release that the investigation is in its early stages. Law enforcement is asking for the public’s help with identifying the person involved.
Anyone in the area around the Dollar General, Barry Travel Plaza or Jiffi Stop between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on Wednesday and observed anyone walking nearby is asked to call the Pike County Sheriff’s Department at 217-285-5011.
“They may not have appeared suspicious at the time, but the information you provide could help identify the subject responsible for this crime,” Greenwood said.
