Greg Freeman Booth, age 64, of Quincy, died on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Florida.

Greg was born on September 10, 1960 in Louisiana, Missouri, a son of Keith and Harriet Freeman Booth. Greg had a son from his first marriage, Alex Booth, who preceded him in death. On February 22, 2017, Greg married Kent McClean. He survives.

Greg was raised near Pearl, Illinois. He attended grade school in Nebo and graduated from Pittsfield High School, before attending John Wood Community College. Greg was a mail carrier for the Post Office in Quincy for the past 32 years.

He enjoyed collecting antiques, beautiful punch bowls, glassware and old figurines. He loved trying new recipes and cooking for family get-togethers that he hosted twice a year. He had a knack for buying and fixing up houses. He always looked forward to hotdog Tuesday with family. Greg always looked forward to spending time with his best friends John and Tina Phillips. Their vacations to the Ozarks were always such a great time, and he always made time to go to dinner and local activities with them.

Survivors in addition to his husband, Kent, include his sister, Judy (Greg) Galloway of Gulf Shores, AL; his mother-in-law, Betty McClean of Quincy; a brother-in-law, Kevin McClean of Quincy; a sister-in-law, Julie McClean of Quincy; his nieces and nephews, Eric (Megan) Booth, Adam (Jessica) Booth, and Jenny (Jason) Booth, Matt (Katy) Galloway, Nick (Allie) Galloway, Brodie (Deanna) McClean, and Cole McClean; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his son, Alex, Greg was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael “Mick” Booth, his beloved dachshund, Toby, and his cat, Larry.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Service: 11:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Dougherty officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
